OLab4 does capture a large amount of activity metrics during a scenario.

This is stored on secure servers and protected. Identifying information can be hidden or encrypted or saved on a more secure on-site server.

There is an extensive list of data captured about every session. Because this is secured in a SQL database, it is possible to use common data analytics tools to examine this data. Data is also protected so that researchers are restricted to analyzing data only on their own participants.

For more sophisticated projects, we can also connect OLab to a Learning Records Store (LRS) via the xAPI protocol. This allows for activity tracking across a number of different applications and platforms.

Learning Locker

Currently, we use two LRSs: Learning Locker and GrassBlade.
